These DCFA Members have been nominated for the following positions:

Vice President Stewardship (two-year term)

  • Kim Trainor (English)

Ombudsperson (two-year term)

  • No nominees

Per the DCFA Bylaws (article 8.4.7), the candidate for VP Stewardship must be ratified through a majority vote. Faculty members who are eligible to vote will receive an email to their College email address with a link to the electronic ballot the morning of May 24.

Because there are no nominees for the Ombudsperson position, it will be unfilled in the Fall 2023 term. The DCFA will be able to hire a parliamentarian on an as-needed basis to cover some of the work of the Ombudsperson for that term. The Elections Committee expects to hold another by-election in September in order to fill the Ombudsperson position with a term beginning January 2024.

Statements from the candidate is attached in order to aid in your decision. The Elections Committee will also host an informal Candidate Forum on Wednesday, May 17, from 10:00-11:00 am; the forum will be held online via Zoom, using the meeting information listed above. All DCFA members are invited to attend the Forum and to ask questions; questions can be asked at the event or submitted in advance to Chair of the Elections Committee, Peter Sinclair, at sinclairp@douglascollege.ca.

If you are unable to attend the Candidate Forum, it will be recorded. Access to the recording will be shared with any DCFA member who requests it. To request access to the recording, or if you have any questions about the election process, please email the Chair of the Elections Committee, Peter Sinclair, at sinclairp@douglascollege.ca.
